Redworms - questions

What causes encysted redworms to hatch? Is it longer day length or warmer weather?

Known problem on our yard and we were warned to watch out for anything with stomach issues around 'spring', but it has been feeling pretty spring like since the end of Feb around here.

I was planning on dosing both of mine with Equest and then doing a worm count, but was trying to work out timings.

I wonder if there is a hormonal element to it - whatever affects coat changes at this time of year.
