I am thinking about getting back in the saddle again, I haven't ridden regularly for about 6 years but until then was competent WTC+lateral work+jumping, had backed youngsters and done a bit of driving.
However I can probably only afford 1/2hr private lessons once a month at the moment, with a goal to being able to confidently hack alone WTC. I'm not sure this is frequent enough to achieve my aims?

Its just a refresher really, not starting from scratch, you will be fine 😊

That's how I restarted after 30 years not riding. I'd only ever been a RS rider, stopped in my late teens and then restarted just before COVID. Initially, I only went for a half hour private when the RS had offers on but after COVID I gradually built up to once a week and now I'm adding in a second lesson when I can.

I found with the monthly lesson, things came back to me slowly but enough that I could happily go on escorted hacks.

I think that will be fine.

You can focus on your fitness in other ways inbetween lessons.

I shouldn't think you will need too many lessons before you would be fine for a chilled hack.
