Well, we arrived in plenty of time this morning. I am always early for everything!
Went and watched a couple of friends compete then went to get my boy out of the box.
I was fully expecting him to be a prize idiot! But once again he surprised me - he does seem to know when its too important to be a twit!
He warmed up well and went in to do the prelim. I was really chuffed that he didnt spook at all the flowers and was submissive and obedient. He did a nice test but two thirds of the way through he went completely flat and no amount of spurs or anything else would give him the spark he needed.
Anyway, he ended up with 63.75% which i was a bit disappointed with but thats dressage for you!
An hour later i got back on him for the novice and warmed him up so he was much sharper off my leg and was much more forward.
Went in to do my test and he started off nicely, he did a nice first lengthened trot getting 7 from everyone, but then i flunked the second one by asking too hard, he broke and didnt lengthen at all! getting two 3s and a 4 !!
This wound him up a bit and he then spooked at A where the pink flowers were. We finished the test without any more mistakes and ended up with 61%.
He is only just coming into novice so i had said if he gets over 60% i would be chuffed and i was, especially as i rode a bit like a muppet!
Anyway, i was delighted with him. He has definitely grown out of prelim and we now have to work harder on the novice.
I got home and took my other boy XC schooling, so i am completely shattered now and on my way to bed early.
I didnt see bbmatt but looking forward to his report.
