Another quicky... if there are 14 horses competing Novice Restricted how many get get to go to the Nationals? Is it one or two????Also if a score of under 65% Novice Restricted, can that horse/rider go to the Nationals or do they have to get over 65% even if they came 2nd???

Has to be over 65% - even if the winner got below this it wouldn't go through!!

With 14 starters I think only one will go through but depending on %ages of the other regionals the second / third horses may get a wildcard!

oooh Good Luck with it.

We just missed the wildcards for the Summers last year (novice). No such luck with the Winters as he had a momentary lack of concentration doing a beautiful flying change instead of counter-canter.

Would love to get him qualified for the Summers (at elem level now) but we seem to be having rotten luck and not even got to a competition yet. Oh well hes only 6 so plenty of time.

If you get a wildcard please SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOF TOPS so we can all cheer you on.

Thankyou!!, Yes I just missed out for Novice Summers by one horse too!!! AGGGRRHH!!

Well at least you know he can do a flying change!!

At 6 you have plenty of time with him and I am sure your lucky will change... I will send you a Lady Luck vibe!! and see you at the summer regionals!!!

Cheers. We are going to start in earnest in April due to me being ill and then having a long needed few days at a health spa (thanks to a wonderful hubby).

So fingers crossed.

What level are you competing at?

I hope you are feeling better... what a wonderful hubby!! They do come in handy dont they!!

I only joined BD in April last year and my boy had no points so we have been taking it easy and doing prelim and Novice classes. I am out of Prelim now (apart from the doing the Nationals.. dream come true!) and qualified for this years Novice Summer Regionals so all points used up almost in Novice so training towards Elementary... it comes up too quick though!!Big leap .. well I think so!! I know I want to ride a piaffe but not quite yet!!!

Yeah we found it seemed to suddenly leap at us and did seem like a huge one at that. Suddenly poor Gen is learning Passage and hard stuff.... EEEK!!!

Well done on the Prelim - I cant believe how high the standard is now for that level so its a HUGE achievement to get to the Nationals. You must be really proud to have done so well in such a short time.

This was Gen's last chance at the Regionals for Novice level and we did have high hopes for him so were a little disappointed.

Never mind ... come April we WILL get out and get there.

Passage!! WOW!!

I cant wait to do that... my ultimate aim would be to do dressage to music PSG including such movements... it must feel wonderful to have such power!!

Yep the Prelim and Novice is very high standard (I think I am at the lower end though!!)

I am very pleased but more importantly I was born "Up North!" so all my family will be able to see my horse at long last... only hope I dont cock up!!

I am doing "mental prep" at the moment.... "I am not nervous...I am not nervous...my horse will not rear....!!!"
grin.gif

Did you go to Patchetts then?? I think I saw you there?? I must admit I am a little "Dizzy" at shows until I have competed... nerves and all that!!
grin.gif
I usually dont watch anyone else until I have competed... too much pressure!!!

Yeah we went to Patchetts hoping that he would like the big indoor school as he has 'stage fright' issues. He hadnt been out for about 2 months before we went due to him having a tendon twinge (being a plonker in the field) and then the poor old lorry died. We have had some rotten luck lately. It really showed as poor Gen was so tense (hence the flying change) but he did get a big round of applause which he (and Mike..his rider) found amusing.

You wont cock up.... you will be fine and it will be such a fantastic day. Im sooooo jealous of you. Be great to have all your family there to keep you sane. Good Luck I will be thinking of you and sending you loads of good luck vibes. Then when you are famous I can 'oooh I know her' lol.

Ahh.. I think I remember now your rider Mike was in the warm up with me... I remember thinking... ummm competition.... help!!! Did you do Addington Summer too?? I remember a fab coloured horse there in Novice came above me... in the top 10???

Thanks for your support!!

I may get famous for my red hair.. !!!

Not sure about the riding though..although my beasty is a star... he does help me out, but makes me sweat!!! All good for the waistline!!

OMG Yeah we did. Came 5th and were REALLY pleased. Just missed out on the wildcard. Gen had improved soooo much and on average was getting 69% so we had high hopes. Hes such a quirky boy and needs to get out more to keep his confidence up.

Mike is a lovely rider and has worked with Gen since I backed him. I dont compete now due to bad arthritis (not too mention the 5 stones of extra fat lol). I am so grateful to Mike who puts so much work in and loves Gen like his own.

So YOU were the person with the red hair. I passed you in the car park at Patchetts and thought 'oooh I like her hair'.

LOL!! Normally gets me noticed!!! Small world eh!! See why I have red hair now... people remember me... just have to make sure I do nothing bad!!! Must say Mike was a lovely rider... and if I remember polite in the warm up too... unlike many!!! (hope I remembered my P & Q's in the warm up that day!!!) My friends also noticed him too... so there you have it.. great combination!! Here is to 2007 for you all !! (just dont compete again me ok!!)LOL!!! Dont forget to say Hi next time you are at Patchetts ... or see me elsewhere..I will look out for you too...
