Right, as many of you know we have now bought Grace...

So, she currently has a Pleasure Horse Society Passport, but it does not have her breeding lines on it. I know she is by a horse that has lovely jumping lines, and I am in the process of contacting the stud where he stood before being gelded (due to an accident).

How would I change her passport to a breed society if indeed this was an option? Her Dad was out of a KWPN Class 1 mare by Greeton du Rezidal you see, but Grace's Mum is a TB of unknown breeding

All you can do is get the passport overstamped by the relevant breed society. Once a pssport is issued to a horse that is the passport it has to stay with.

She is not registered... her owner just got the Pleasure one because she was getting all of the others one and did not intend on doing anything with her until it came to selling her. She has a covering certificate from the stallion, but as he is not a stallion anymore he will not be registered, but could have been when she was born. Sorry, I know this is quite complicated and I am not explaining it very well

You may have problems getting her breeding recorded. I drew a blank when it came to mine & I was given the covering certificate, but they have to be reg within the 6mths or it entails blood tests/dna etc. In the end I did not persue it, but it was with the SHB as her sire belonged to the then HIS scheme. Other breed societies may be more flexible, but the breeding is normally recorded in the pages of the passport when it is issued. I would be intested to know if anyone else has had more success.

Thanks... me too!

I don't mind going down the DNA route, as he is still owned by the stud, just gelded now. I would love to pop over and see him some time too, because I think he will look quite like Grace for some reason

oh please let me know how you get on, am about to embark on the same probs with my pleasure horse passport for my 8 yr old, the DOB is also wrong and they have put 1989 instead of 1999!
I have all his breeding info too and would also like him to have his studs prefix added to his passport name!
