Just wondering about people's experiences of using Regumate.
costs type etc, dosage, frequency, etc etc

I only used it once and managed to get a foal from a mare I could never get to breed which was a great success.

I have just put an old mare (20yrs, Arab x Welsh D) that has never bred to the stallion (CB) to see if I can get a performance foal for the carriage - LOL

She is fresh for her age so fingers crossed but was just thinking about using Regumate to increase her chances.

Hi

We used regumate two years ago on our 19 year old maiden mare. The vet suggested it so we put her on it for about a week (i think - can't remember exactly how many days but I don't think it was any longer than a week/ten days - maybe less). We then stopped giving it to her, two days later she came into season and conceived straight away (AI).

Our other mare was a 19 year old maiden and we didn't use regumate on her. She took on her second attempt.

I think using regumate helped in that you can control when the horse comes into season which might have helped to be more accurate with the AI.

Goodluck

I use regumate on mares that will not come in heat at all. I give it one cyclus and 4-5 days after the last dosis she will come in heat. Always works.
The dose I give is 1 pump on the bottle. By the way, allthough a bit different in ingrediënts, you can also use Regumate Pig. Much cheaper;-)

Are you talking about feeding your mare regumate when she has been scanned in foal ?
I have on two occasions fed regumate to mares from 16 days to 100 days on vet advice, both mares were scanned in foal at 16 days but were also showing signs (on scan) of coming back in season. Both mares had previously been scanned in foal at 16 days but had returned in season before 32 days. Both mares were put on regumate and both had live foals. It was porcine regumate.
