My mare has excelled herself in the lairy behaviour department lately.

She has been quirky and sharp for the whole 8 years I have owned her and I have persevered with hormonal + calming supplements but this year they seem to be having nil effect!!

In the absence of any other physical explanations and in order to keep my body in one piece I have bitten the bullet and decided to give the Regumate a go. So armed with my vets prescription I now find lots of online stockist are out of stock :-(

Does anyone know a reputable / reasonably priced place to get hold of some?

Thanks X

Our vets sent out an email saying that Regumate is out of stock/production with the manufacturer, so this may be why you can't get hold of any. They are offering porcine Regumate as an alternative if that helps you find some

Thanks three ponies. My vet said it was now not possible to prescribe the porcine one for horses...although he conf. it was exactly the same stuff?!

My vet told me they can no longer prescribe drugs licensed for use one species for on another under new European ruling called the Cascade. Therefore Regumate Porcine, although the same can no longer legally be prescribed for use on horses. This plus the national supply issue of Regumate Equine particularly in the 1ltr bottle is going to make for some interesting weeks ahead! I did manage to get some this week though via OneClickPharmacy.com although they only have the 1.50ml bottles in stock so cost a bit more but they were able to give me as close to the ltr I had been prescribed as they could. They said expect to have more stock in by end July but expect there will be a backlog of orders to fill by then! Good luck :)

I was getting so mad trying to get some Regumate yesterday!
Got prescription from vet after trial for 10 days to find no 1lt bottles anywhere. My mare needs 13ml a day so the small bottles don't last long and work out twice as expensive as the 1lt, why it's that different price wise I have no idea.
I even asked my vet if they would prescribe the pig one but as I can still get small bottles they won't.
Will just have to get a couple small ones until the 1lt is avail again, so much for trying to save some money on it!
