My 5 year old has hock arthritis and it looks like we're going for surgical fusion. From my current understanding, rehab looks like box rest followed by restricted turnout and then a consistent and progressive workload to fuse the hock over a period of around a year.
Unfortunately, my current yard isn't suitable for that sort of rehab as our arena and hacking are largely unrideable through the winter and turnout is a large herd of 40 horses.
Therefore, I'm on the hunt for a suitable yard. People who've been through similar, what would be your wish list/what would have made your life easier?
Bonus points for any hock fusion rehab stories please ?
