Rehoming a feral cat

Given up with this feral nonsense and brought him home. After some anxious pacing of the downstairs he's been asleep on my lap for the past hour (while I try and do laptop stuff!)

He was miserable without human contact at the yard and has a bit of a sniffle so I think we'll see how house cat goes. We have a pretty over grown garden with a neighbour's small paddock behind so once he can go out there's enough entertainment

He does know what a cat flap is - fortunately it was locked!!

Aww, that's just so both funny, and absolutely adorable to hear.
How lucky for him that he landed with you @SEL .

Does this mean you'll need to look for another feral cat to keep after mice at your stable?

Not sure that would be wise, I have this inkling SEL might be a soft touch, she could end up with half a dozen house cats and still not have a feral enough cat for the yard.😂

I can't believe I've just caught up with this. It's hilarious that it's gone from 'feral cat ready to kill' to 'pampered puss' in a matter of days. 😆 Sometimes they just know. I've taken on cats that swiped at humans from behind curtains and they've been soft as butter with me. I was once approached by my branch of CP about a cat that was very unsettled and aggressive. Literally minutes after arriving home she was rolling around for a tummy tickle. The fosterer hadn't been able to pick her up (and she was experienced, the cat was just traumatised being in a house with other kitties)!

We appear to have gained another ‘feral’ cat. I suspect it must have a home somewhere, it’s black and white - almost looks as if it’s four stockings, and not very friendly, maybe because it knows this isn’t home. My or l prefer to call them the farm cats, are very demanding especially where food is concerned and move extremely fast if they’re at the bottom of the yard and see anyone who may fill up there food dish. I haven’t seen the interloper sitting on a round bale or eating but it’s definitely around.

Our boy who naps paw in hand with OH, has 5 different beds and only leaves the houses to go on a quick murder spree in the hedge was described as grumpy and bitey by his previous human who was trying to re-home him to a farm/yard/ outside home.
You've reminded me that the cat in my reply above was going to be homed as a feral yard cat if I didn't take her!

Been struggling to upload. Sofa with 2 humans squashed to either side with one extremely feral cat snoring in the middle!

He managed to get upstairs last night after OH forgot to shut the door properly. I couldn't be bothered to herd him downstairs so he slept between us. When Missy was alive I was usually sleeping in about 6 inches of bed while she took up all the room. Benny though seems to want to push OH out of bed so that's all good!!
