I can't do this myself (I think they tend to be quite large and OH would definitely notice) but would love to have the opportunity
Depends whether they respect fencing or not, I had a big mare (around 17hh) and she was fine in any size fencing, 13h pony not so muchI’m looking to rehome one as a companion. Obviously they are all 17 hands . How tall should my fencing be? Anyone with big horses?
I applied for this and have received details of the horses available. I must admit I have been surprised at the horses they are rehoming, the majority are lame and a few are ataxic . The ones that aren't field companions because of physical issues seem to have behavioural problems. Out of approx 15 horses one was sound but old so being retired & 2 were possible light hacks for experienced riders. Whether anyone does take them on I'm not sure, as you were still expected to pay for them.
Normal fencing is fine with horses of that size the problem comes if they barge through electric fences or like to jump out. And you’ll only know that by asking. Plus expect a financial hit with vets fees. They’ll all had a hard life.I’m looking to rehome one as a companion. Obviously they are all 17 hands . How tall should my fencing be?
