Rehoming a racehorse

I have come across a few who were dopes on a rope. I am sure they will match her with something suitable, and they will moniter the situation carefully. Having worked in racing a long time, I see kids coming out of the racing school, having only ridden for 9 weeks, and they are put on horses and sent out, so there are some very quiet horses in training out there!

Mine is a total donkey most of the time, but does have his moments where his racer brain kicks in and he will have a paddy and rear or spin, which might be a bad combination put with a novice rider. Also needs much more management than your average horse regarding feed and shoes and tugging etc but it's all down to experience and you have to learn somewhere, but no I wouldn't recommend a fresh ex racer for a novice.

To be fair we have a horse in the yard just now who's worst trait is that he would need daisy reins with a novice as he would stop and munch the grass verges all day long otherwise!
