I know of WHW, Redwings, RSPCA, The TRC (where we have our tb from) and Moorcroft and Heros (tho a friend said don't touch Heros)

What others are there?

And can you also pm me with experiences pleae? I don't want to get spanked:D

Ps its for us to rehome a riding horse, must be sensible and be able to take 6' 11stone of brother:)

There are also smaller local charities. It will depend on where you live but in Surrey there are Brownbread and MANE. Also the Horse Trust in Bristol.

Have a chat to your local WHW officer - they will know who is local to you.

Depending on where you are in the country Bransby are fabulous and have a nice range of horses - but they only rehome within an hour of their centres. I have one from them and would highly recommend.

Blue cross seem to have a lot on their web site - but I've no expereince of them.

My two are from the Blue Cross, and I have had a very good experience rehoming from them. They have two centres, and open days every week when they make you very welcome to have a look round and see horses and ponies.

Everything was done in a very caring and professional way, and they inspect all homes before placement, and their welfare officers do follow up visits and keep in touch. I have been provided with a file and am expected to keep proper records of blacksmith visits, vet checks, weight etc.

The Staffordshire centre is just off A38 and not far from M1.

:):):)

I have two from SWHP in Monmouth, one companion and one ridden pony. cannot praise SWHP enough, they are absolutely brilliant. Not sure if they rehome as far as MK though. They have a website or you could try telephoning them to check. They seem to have more horses than usually shown on the website so its always worth contacting them.

You could have a look on Horses4Homes but if you apply for a certain bay gelding I will have to track you down and beat you coz I WANT HIM :p

You have been warned :D

I've had two companion ponies and a lovely tb from the Blue Cross (not all at once!). They are always happy for you to come and visit any horses that you are interested in. There were a couple of nice riding horses last time I looked at the site.
