I am about to try a Reiki practitioner, but I have since been told that they are linked with Parelli? Does anyone know if this is true? If so its not for me.

Reiki has no connection to Parelli.
Unless the specific practitioner also does parelli.
I have a Reiki practitioner see my patients at work and they definitely don't wave a carrot stick at them 😉

The only Reiki practioners I know in my local area are also Parelli fans. Not sure if thats co-incidence though

I know a lot of horse people who have had successes th their horses and it isn't something I would discount for mine as my patients (the human kind) all get a great deal of benefit from it.

Reiki can be very effective if the animal allows it, one stressy dog totally relaxed during treatment, another went to attack the healer, who used to treat police dogs and horses
Yes, this can happen, but this does not mean that it won't work for some. My reiki practicioner was not a horse person, so had never heard of Parelli, but focused on my mares problem without any guidance from me.

It has bollicks all to do with Parelli. I guess there is an increased likelihood that someone who is interested in one slightly off the wall therapy may also have an interest in off the wall training methods, but reiki therapists do come in normal and down to earth versions too ;)

I've used a couple of Reiki practitioners, neither had anything to do with Parelli. They've been really good with my horses and dogs, the results were impressive. However, one of my horses refused. Both practitioners said that she didn't want it and it only works when the animal accepts the treatment.

I've had reiki and my previous lad also had it and it worked wonders on us both, reiki has absolutely nothing to do with Parelli. I can highly recommend it for horses who have problems as I got to understand a lot about my lad and helped me with his rehab and find him a more suitable home as we were not a suitable partnership.

The connection I think is that both are a big con.

I sat in on and was 'treated' in a Reikki 'practitioners' training day once. Utter nonsense as any half educated scientist will confirm.
It's a kind of pyramid scheme with people buying into the hype, going on to do the training and then training others. I do think that some people might be born with natural talent for healing, but paying for some kind of magical 'attunement' training is in my opinion just con that the teachers themselves are taken in by.
I also think that Parelli is a way of trying to sell something that can't really be bought - IE talent/experiance/affinity with horses. So there are similarities there I suppose.
