Has anyone had a Reiki "person" out to visit their horse?

I have one coming tomorrow to see my youngster who is currently on box rest with a damaged tendon and she is also going to look at Viento about his tension issues.

Just would be interested in anyone's opinions, good or bad?

If I had 2 horses with tendon issues I think I would be looking at why. I would probably be spending the money on getting a 2nd opinion on the farriery they were recieving.

Re-aligning the horses chakras will do nothing to remove the cause of the problem.

Im sorry but if you read my post properly you will see that I said 1 horse has a damagaed tendon and the other has TENSION issues.

LOL, I haven't got my glasses on! Still recon that there are better more proven therapies/remedies/kit and treaments to spend time and money on. As a last resort, after getting a physio, vet, dentist, saddle fitter etc all to no avail... fair enough! It is very wrong when people resort to Reiki in place of vets etc, as some people do!

My friend went on loads of courses to become a qualified Reiki practitioner and she encounters owners who believe she has mystical powers.... from what I can see, nothing she does has any effect on the horses. It has more effect on the owners feelings of wellbeing. We are mates, but I tell her it is all a bunch of tree hugging hippy cr*p... She just winks and says it pays well!

FWIW, my mare has seen the vet and been given 3 weeks box rest/restricted grazing and a weeks' worth of bute. It only happened last monday and we seem to think she did it out in the field.

As for my boy, he is a tense little man. EVERYTHING has been checked and I think its down to a personality clash.

Reiki is being carried out by someone I work with. She offered to come and see them as a friend so wont be charging me anyway.

So I figured its worth a go. Im not sure I would go out and pay for it but then again, I know little about it so I guess I cannot really comment!

I have had Reiki person to one of ours. I was an absolute complete non believer and i told the lady i thought it was a load of rubbish

I do also like to try to be open minded though. It was free so i gave it a go. The horse did not like it at first, was very fidgety and kept moveing away - not like her atv all, she loves people and attention. Anyway she started her thing and i was stood watching. I started to feel a realy strange pulling sensation, especially in old injury/operation sites. It was like an invisible pulling to the lady. I put it down to the breeze

Anyway the horse was much looser in her neck and does carry her headhigher now. Me? I was pain fee for the the first time in 20 years!!!

I told the lady what i felt and i am aparantly - can't think of the word now

- like sort of open to it. I have not felt the pulling again in the breeze

I do now beleive it works. I don't know how and i do like to have the facts! I cannot speak for the horse as only she knows but there realy is an improvement. There is nothing a vet can do. I would never replace a vet etc but to repair damage i do now believe in Rieki although i keep it quiet! I am going to learn when i have the money as aparantly i am good at chanelling energy. I did have a go on Basil as i was told he would die by the vet - he is fully recovered. Not by that i don't belive but was determined to try everything

I would give it a go

I was never that convinced but a friend has just done her training and wanted to practice so asked if she could try it on my TB who has ligament and tendon issues. I thought why not, it was free, what harm could it do.
Did it do any good? Who knows. He is still sound so it certainly did no harm and he really enjoyed it which I guess is what counts. I'd certainly give it a go and keep an open mind.

My friend used my horses as guinea pigs whilst she qualified ini reiki. I dont understand how it works but the horses definitely draw towards it particularly my little TB that has previous bad experience issues. She can also pick up areas of blockages that might have probs associated with them. I would use it.. it helped my new horse settle in to her home as well..
