when i worked at my traqiners yard her friend did it i thought it fantastic it really suppled monty up behind and made a huge difference when jontz is bk in work i will prob get her out to check her over
Moi, I'm a scientist, hugely skeptical over anything like this ......
A friend of a friend is very 'in tune with nature' for want of a better description and is into all this reiki stuff, practices a bit herself.
Well we were both at our mutual friends house who happened to have a lame dog. Dog very gentle natured, lying fast a kip, reiki friend very quietly holds her hand over the dog and 'does reiki'
Dog yelps, snatches at it's leg, gets up and won't let Reiki firend near her.
I found it quite funny I have to admit, but held a fairly adult conversation about reiki with this friend who persuded me to let her try it on me.
I get a sore shoulder from time to time and she picked up on this, I felt a lot of heat in my shoulder region and also got pins and needles in my fingers and toes.
Has my shoulder been cured, I'm afraid not!
Someone on my horses yard does this and he gets a couple of sessions a year. Im not sure it has any great effect but he does nod off during them (normally he is stressed by other people in his stable) and seems calmer afterwards.
There's a Reiki person coming to our yard soon.....the usual 'sheep' have put their names down on the board to be included. There again if a witch doctor was coming the same group would make down for that as well. I'm sceptical, some say it works, some say it doesn't...I'll wauit & see what happens on our yard. Thing is 90% of the horses on the list are healthy anyway.
I have had Reiki and kinesiology on myself, i was very sceptical. I have pelvis and lower vertebraes that come out of place. I've seen osteo's etc all said if carried on i'd be in wheelchair by the age of 25 - well I have hit that and over and i'm still going strong.
If I have a niggle i take drugs but if the pain in my back is unbearable I go back and see them and the pain etc is gone within couple of days and no expensive follow up treatments. Best to go to a Reiki Master
i certainly wouldnt sign up for a witch doctor! and im no sheep, but it is interesting to me to see what effect she will have on my horse. nothing ventured nothing gained. the same list as people signed up for teeth and back on our yard aswell. with todays strenious competitions, i think every avenue should be sought after to keep your horse healthy!!!!
I have a 17yo TB who has ongoing problems with his shoulder due to an old injury, after trying many vets, muscle people, farriers, chiropractors I was at the end of my tether.
My yard owner asked if I would mind trying "something different", which I didn't.
The Reiki master came up, we told her nothing about my horse and she just stood in the stable with him, she didn't see him moving or examine him in any way. She was able to say that he had a shoulder injury and had trapped fluid in his muscle (it was not visable in any way) and what way he would behave if he was tacked up (he's cold backed - and we never told her). SHE WAS SPOT ON!!!
Anyhow, she did her healing stuff on him for 1 hour, and he nodded off straight away.
2 days later yard owner rang me to tell me that my horse had just danced out of the stable like a 2 year old. Since then I have treatments on my horse every two months, it does settle him and also you can see a major difference before and after treatments.
As you can gather I am very sceptical regarding Reiki however on my initial post I should not have used some terms which were derogatory to people on my yard. They are good people & care about their horses. They obviously believe that this treatment may do something for their horses & want to do right by them. I unreservedly apologise for any offence caused to any of the people subject of my post.
Having had reiki myself I can tell you it definitely works. During my session I could feel both her hands on me at the top of my back, and another hand at the bottom. I didn't day anyhting to her and afterwards she told me that someone was helping her, that is was my dads grandmother and told me her name (which I did not know util afterwards when I checked)
I felt so much better physically but particularly emotionally afterwards! It is a very ancient art which has been around for centuries-must be something in it?
xx
Having the reiki woman out to my horse soon also a few others on the yard ! I know loads of people who have had the reiki person out most of them not having injured or ill horses!
If you have a horse and would like to know why they do some of them little quirks then this is the way forward my Auntie's horse told her what brushes he liked what bit he liked ect.... I think many people will benefit from this visit to our yard ! And im sure this will be shown through the good results this season from some of theses horses !
