Any ideas on what I can use to disguise a bit of rein rub. Once clipped my boy is very sensitve and his reins rub despite padding + grease on the skin.
Competing this week and wondered if anyone has any ideas on anything I can apply to help hide it a bit. Its not bad, just visible really because of the lighter skin against his dark coat!
Thank you

Mine is a baldy coot too despite having used leather reins all season.. Its a fact of life im afraid after christmas until spring.

Mine is the same! He looks really flea chewed at the moment

unfortunately havent found a cure either!!

As trainrobber says it happens after xmas until the summer coat starts to come thro ot happens on my sisters hunter every year, we put it down to him being a fine skinned tb. What you could do is get some fur fabric and make a thin tube, thred it onto your reins from the bit end up to and slightly beyond where it rubs, but not to interfere with your hands this will stop it rubbing him, and you can easily slide the tubes off to wash them.

Hi Guys,
Pleased to hear I'mn t the only one suffering! At home I put plastic around the reins at the critical point but was just looking for ideas as this won' be allowed in dressage!!
