I have a reincoat lite, just the short version and although I like it and I love the big hood which has an overhang so rain doesn’t drip down your face it’s quite substantial, not the featherlite thing I was expecting. It’s fine though I do like it.

Friend was turning out this week in absolutely biblical rain in her Equidry long net lined coat and was bone dry under neath. I was incredibly impressed as when I say turning out she didn’t just pop one to the field she turned about 20 out and it took about an hour in solid rain.
So I’m thinking of getting one.
I’m not sure if I should go for the Rein coat lite or Equidry evolution.
Both the same price £10 discount code for the RC and 5% for the other so not a lot in it.

Both have elasticated back which I quite like.
I can’t really see online how the Equidry hood is?
I like the Rein coat hood. I also like the shaping on the sleeves, the Equidry looks like it has normal shaped wrists?

Anyone tried both?
I want the lighter of the two,

I haven't tried both but have the long Reincoat light one with the netting.
It keeps me bone dry.
The hood is similar to the short Reincoat Air so they're very oversized. I wear a cap to keep it back off my face a bit.

Love my mesh lined Equidry, but the hood is oversized as it is designed to fit over a riding helmet. It’s irritating when trying to use the hood on a bare head, as it flips forward and restricts my vision a lot.

I never use the hood, I wear a separate cap if it’s wet. I’d never ride with a hood up either, it restricts side/rear vision too much.

Not tried a Reincoat, so can’t compare.

Sorry also haven’t tried both, but have the Reincoat light and it’s fantastic! Love the details of the shaping at the cuffs and the hood, for me it’s very light but I am very nesh…

I have the Reincoat lite - it hasn’t let me down yet had it about a year. Been considering buying a second one - some of them are reduced in certain sizes/colours.

I have the short Reincoat Air(?) and an Equidry Mac (1 year old, so don’t know if it’s been updated since then). The Reincoat is a little lighter weight than the Equidry, but I have no idea whether he same is true of the long Reincoat Lite.

It’s looking like Reincoat is maybe the way to go. I wore my short one today and stayed dry. I also just love the hood. Those saying it’s too big, it’s HUGE but have you tightened the crown elastic? Keeps it in place perfectly. Although side vision is a little restricted.
I do see that equi coat do dog coats in all colours which can be personalised, I’m all over that!

I’ve got a lightweight and medium weight equidry (both long version) and found both to be really wind proof & waterproof even in the pouring rain.

The hood is an annoyance though and I do think Reincoats design for that is better but Equidry has the better Black Friday discounts and I couldn’t justify the extra the Reincoat would cost just for a nicer hood

Well, thanks to this thread, I just forked out £90 on a high viz Reincoat Lite! If they are waterproof, I think £90 including delivery is a fine bargain.

I used the discount code CATHERINE10 that I found online, and the orange was already discounted to £99.

I've just done the same, along with 3 friends.
We will now all be out in matching high viz pink 🤪
£90 was too good a bargain to miss

I bought the mesh lined rein coat on the offer in the high viz pink .
I am incredibly impressed it’s completely waterproof .
I have ordered the shorter version it’s on back order.

I have this from Mountain Warehouse for riding. It's actually a cycling jacket but it's the perfect length for sitting in the saddle (close fitting at the back so doesn't get caught) and doesn't have a hood, which you don't need anyway.
Also the price doesn't have a "horse tax" added!! The horsey alternatives were all at least double the price.
For yard jobs I just wear a normal 3 in 1 waterproof jacket...yes, I'm tight!! 🤣 (originally from Scotland so it's in my DNA)

I love my Reincoat lite, but as it's new, I haven't had much chance to ride in it. It definitely stands up to weather, though. I'm on the side of a hill and it's blowy and awful in the rain. There are at least 4 of them on my yard. We're like equestrian handmaids, trudging around in the crappy weather. 😁

I need to stop reading this sort of stuff. Have just ordered one for myself.

I do have a long fleece-lined Equidry which I love but it is absolutely roasting hot even in Scottish winter weather. This new one could be just the thing I need!

Well, I ordered both so I could try and then decide and return the looser!
The Equidry came on Wednesday last week and i do really like it but would like to get the Reincoat to compare first, The Reincoat hasnt even been dispatched yet. Has anone else who bought this week had theirs? I wondered if there was a problem. The estimated delivery date was 15-17 Sept.

I liked the look of the Reincoat last summer but I messaged them with my measurements (I'm 6'1" , size 14/16, and fairly long arms) and they told me their biggest size would be too tight on me and too short on my arm length.

I ordered my Reincoat on Wednesday and it arrived on Friday - pretty impressive.

I was less impressed that, after I'd ordered, they dropped the price by another £20. This sort of thing always happens to me. Gggrrr.
Probably worth you sending an email asking if they can grant you £20 credit to reflect the price change - worst they can do is say no...

I’m 5’10” with long arms and the Reincoat I tried on (can’t remember which size) was defo not designed with us tall people in mind. Far too short in the arms.

My Equidrys fit me much better, I’ve got an XSTall in the Equimac and an S in the evolution lite. Need to size up if there’s a fleece lining, I suspect that the outer measurements are the same on both.

I don't ride in it so can't comment on how it'd be for that but I have a Lands' End long coat that has stood up to some seriously bad weather and kept me dry. I was out in it yesterday in biblical rain and was warm and dry under it.

That's annoying! Ive just emailed to enquire about mine. My estimated delivery was 15-17 September and Ive not even had a dispatch email yet.
