Reins for showing!!

Hi! I do a little bit of showing with my horse and would like to get her the correct outfit. I know it is correct to wear a pelham and not use roundings, so I was wondering what reins I need to buy?!?! And which one do you have on the top and which one on the bottom. Thanks for you help. xx

I always have a plaited set, and a plain set.
Plaited go on he top, and plain on the bottom.

yeah, plaited set on top, + plain set on bottom is good. you dont have to use a pelham, you can use a double bridle, double reins, what ever the bit, are always prefered.

If you cant afford plaited reins get laced ones, they are cheaper but look just as good. Make sure they are laced the right way though, many arent, so the grip is wrong on the underside of the reins. Another alternative is half rubber reins for the top rein. Then plain ones on the bottom.

Thanks for your help, but more questions..... There is a choice of size of reins? For the plaited 5/8 or 3/4? I am probably being thick! Is one pony size? For the plain reins there are three choices 1/2, 5/8 or 3/4!??! Help! Many thanks.
