Hi Everyone. You may recall my earlier post about relocating to Perthshire. Well today we have finally concluded the missives on a property in Alyth and will be moving in end of October. Very exciting and absolutely terrifying. My horse is arriving the following week as we are moving from Jersey and it is rather a long hike. Would love to hear from any of you nearby who could give me any help and/or advice and also to meet some of you to make new friends. Door always open for a cuppa!! Have downloaded application forms for Tayside Dressage Club and Strathearn Riding Club. I think that is the right area. Look forward to hearing from you. X

Sorry I've completely cocked that up. I'm stressed!!!!! We have bought Kelvin and will be keeping her at home. First time ever for me!!! Can't wait.

Hi Auntie_Mags, I've also just moved from Buckinghamshire into the same area as you. I'm currently staying with an instructor fairly near to Alyth to get more experience in the horsey industry. I can't believe how beautiful it is up here, it's such a great place to have horses. Please PM me if you'd like to know anything. I can also (only if you want to) put you in touch with the instructor I'm staying with, Sarah is a very experienced BHSI who has competed in dressage at international level. She's also really good fun and teaches people at all levels. If you'd like you can have a look at her website for her Risk Assessment business: www.sara4h.com and look at her 'about us' section. I hope the moving goes smoothly and you get settled asap!

Ooh, you lucky, lucky person - I'm soooooo jealous!

I'm from a village just outside Dundee - Alyth was about 10 miles away. I would so love to move back. We go to Perthshire every year for our holidays, just so I can get my 'Scotland' fix!

Hope the move goes well and that you have a fantastic time up there!

Hi A_M, I think I replied to your post last time (?) I'm in Perth which is around an hour from Alyth. Good luck with the move, everyone is really friendly up here! If you're needing numbers for vets, farriers, etc please dont hesitate to contact me and if you're needing a good tack shop I've just opened one!! (Slightly cheeky - sorry

!!). It's Strathmore RC which is your local one but they're both full of lovely people.

Can't help with horse info up there but just very jealous of where you're moving to! My father and his family come from Blairgowrie and I still have aunt and cousin in Rattray/Alyth area and I feel like Perthshire is my second home. I go there for holidays as it soothes my soul! Friend from the West Country has just moved to Dundee for work and had to get her horse up there from Bristol and all gone smoothly so I hope your move is as stress free and you love your Highland life!

oh you lucky thing, its a stunning area

I`m further north (Aberdeenshire) but family have a cottage in Glen Isla which isnt far from Alyth.

Done strathearn XC a few years back, it was a lovely course.

Good luck with the move and welcome to Scotland!

Hi Olivio,

Yes you did reply to my post last time, thankyou. I would love to have the details of your tack shop and will look forward to visiting you. Any details of vets (equine, canine, feline) etc would be great and also any other useful information. Every one has been so kind contacting me. Good luck with the tack shop.

Angela
