When the Amersham horses were rescued, a little girl called Katy Roberts was so appalled that she held a silent protest outside Spindles Farm, for an hour, holding a placard. She also went to the Horse Trust in Amersham and was there when an Operation Esther convoy arrived and her father helped to unload the gear.

Katy has hemiplegia, and lost her mother to cancer when she was 5. She is training to take part in the Cancer Research Race for Life on May 11th. Perhaps a few people on here would sponsor her and help her reach her goal of £250? Her website is www.katyroberts.co.uk and if a few of you lovely people sponsored her for just £5 she would soon reach it.

Katy sounds an incredibly brave lass who is learning to ride with her local RDA centre. I have checked with her if it is ok to ask people on here to sponsor her, not sure if anyone in admin minds that sort of thing - anyone know? Will wait to be slapped if this is not ok!

I hope you certainly do not get slapped for this as she deserves all the support she can get. Donations start from £2 (approx my chocolate allowance for a day !!)

My mum and sister are taking part in this so have sponsored them generously as my grandma was origionaly diagnosed with breast cancer, cleared then the useless docs failed to pick up on a persistant cough, told her it was a virus,by the time it was diagnosed it was to late
