Hey i haven't posted on here for a long time so not sure if anyone remembers me but thought i would update you all on my 2 horrors and what we have been up to!

So last time i posted both my boys were off work with injuries and it was a pretty boring 2016, 2017 however is far more interesting but of course not without hospital stays :( don't think i will ever have a year without a massive vet bill!!

Ill start off with Beanz! He returned to work fairly stress free last summer from his rather minor injury and since then it has been all systems go to get ready for the 2017 event season!! We have mastered jumping once again and represented our riding club in the SJ qualifiers where we secured 3rd place, just missed out on the qualifications but as sj isnt my forte i was very pleased with him! :D We have also completed our first BE of the season at poplar park a few weeks back, scoring a 39 in a harshly marked section leaving us in 6th place!! Now i have said sj isnt my forte so a clear sj was pretty fricking amazing!! it did still require a meltdown in the warmup though.... from me that is not beanz!! Onto the xc.... my favorite part, beanz is rather inexperienced in this phase what with poplar only being our 3rd ever xc run! so he did require his hand holding the entire way round which does make our one mistake even more frustrating as i should have been there for him but hey ho we live and learn sadly the 20 on xc did cost us a placing but we have all season to chase the elusive placings so who cares!! Im so proud of the way he took it all his stride and behaved so well all day! Next up for us is Ascott under wychwood and then horseheath. With an aim of maybe stepping up to 90 at some point this season!! Of course we have been up to lots of other fun stuff like, beach trips, forest trips, xc schooling etc but it will take me forever if i write about all of those too!! He is growing up to be such a lovely little horse i am very excited to see what the rest of the year holds for us!!

Onto the other love of my life... the bear!! Quick recap for him: injured his tendon sheath eventing in 2015 had surgery and started his rehab jan 2016, sadly by march he was lame again on the same leg so i decided to turn him away for a year in a big field. fast forward to oct, he was happy chilling in his paddock but i started to notice a snotty nose had the vet out to check him over and was told it was probably nothing, onto jan 2017 i nipped down to see him after work one morning and wasnt 100% happy with his current weight so decided to bring him home, he still had a snotty nose too :( into the vets to check his lameness and his nose! Different vet this time who diagnosed him with asthma.... I was not convinced but he was due back 3 weeks later for another leg check anyway so took the meds and thought id see how he went. Back in and this time round we are sound and cleared to start work from the tendon injury woohoooo as i was still not happy with his snotty nose i pushed for a scope... so glad i did, unfortunately for him and my bank balance, they found a cyst blocking 3/4s of his airway that needed removing asap :( So in for surgery again. Hes been home 2 weeks now and is looking really well, he is starting to put the weight back on too, due back into hospital this coming wed for a rescope and then hopefully we can actually start doing something again... who knows!!

So thats a short recap on us for now! I will try and post more regular updates of my eventing antics and bears rehab :)
Heres a few pics of the boys in action! (hope they work!!)

I was acctually wondering about your boys the other day, i loved following your reports and was gutted for you when beanz went lame aswell last year!

Glad both are back to and on their way back to full health! What will you do Arnie when he's recovered from his cyst?

Erm well the plan is hacking and dressage really, I'm too scared to event him again, he's only 9 so if he can stay sound dressaging then I'll try and showjump him. But not this year and probably not next either! I'm too scared of breaking him again :( He is bred to showjump though so as long as his legs can handle it I'll give it a go, he isn't ever going anywhere so we have all the time in world to play at that!! No pressure what so ever to compete this year either if we do we do if we don't we don't!! I just want him sound and happy :)

Lovely update.

My big chap George had tendon sheath surgery in October and has come back more lame than before so I've turned him away and hoping for a positive outcome; that cyst you've had sounds very scary. Sound and happy is what I'm hoping for G too.
