Well - an answer, once all poshed up, is no
He looks like a slim show cob. Or possibly a warmblood.
On sunday Toby went to his first ever show, and was a very good boy. He's a stressy horse in general, as well as being a total drama queen (I have never seen such a fuss over being sponge bathed!) but other than screaming and yelling a bit, and jogging occasionally, he was perfect. After a couple of hours he was an old hand and settled down to the serious business of grazing the show field down (very public minded of him)
He only did the the arab (and part breds in hand) but I rather wished I'd brough up his saddle so I could have ridden him a bit. And if I'd been more orgainsed I could have done the clear round inhand whilst it was still ikkle.
The actual class went ok. Only two in the class and the other horse was a beautiful pure arab who moved like a dream, so Toby came second. But he behaved impeccably and trotted out nicely, which is something he's not great at. Plus, once all trimmed up and plaited, the judge probably wondered what the hell he was doing in the class (he is part bred arab, honest!)
Hanging about - I love this photo for some reason:
Having his nose poked for screaming in my ear. Again.
Standing patiently whilst the other horse strutted her stuff
And our turn, being less patient. A bit of carrot cures everything though
Him looking big - I'm 5'8 and he's maybe 15.1hh.
And trotting out calmly is not particularly expressively.
Posing afterward, but refusing to wear his rossete, as it's was clearly the most terrifying Toby-eating monster ever
"Don't want it. Won't look at it. Make it go away"
"Take it off mum. Or I'll eat it"
"My best side?"
Beautiful posing and someone chopped his ears off. Typical.
"Don't wanna to pose. Wanna eat my dandilion"
"Carrot, you say? Really? As well as dandilion?"
"Ummmm, reins"
Bored of posing
One last pose
I also took my little man (2yr old coloured cob) who was the bestest behaved horsey there (stood quietly for 2hrs, munching his haynet and behaved himself impeccably in the class) but he was taken home before the camera arrived, cos he was just going to get bored. If anyone was there (Penicuik Hunter and Lass) and can remember who the proffesional photographers where, please let me know, as they have pictures of him.
