Friend lost her court case in August because new owner said pony didn't hack alone, as described in the ad.

It was a blatant lie, as Misty has always hacked happily alone or in company. Anyway, unable to bring herself to advertise Misty again, disheartened by people lying about their ability and experience, my friend let Misty go very cheaply to someone who she trusted wouldn't suddenly invent any comeback.

Fast forward a few months and the lovely Misty is for sale, now seeking a permanent home. The pictures on the advert are lovely and I feel they should serve to help my friend feel morally vindicated that her old pony is exactly how she described her.

A huge cyber thanks to the current owners for now believing the court room lies about her and giving her a chance. Also, good luck to her new owners (whoever they end up being) for lots of fun and happiness with Misty.

Most of all, I want to send cyber hugs to my friend. She went through so many emotions (and still is) over this. The court case came at a sad time in her life as she'd lost her dad and was going through alot of stress. She may have lost the court case, but she certainly wins the moral victory in mine and many others eyes.

Her's her advert reference on Horsemart, if anyone's interested. I especially like the picture of her hacking ALONE!

I hope she gets the home she deserves, she has been from piller to post a bit this year.
I was a bit worried about the photo of her hacking ,if cars need headlights on .Is it safe to ride without bright clothing on.
Thanks for the update

Well, personally I only ever ride with high viz on. Not me or my friend riding though (or in any of the pictures), so we have absolutely no control over what they deem suitable hacking attire.

I meant I just love to see that Misty is indeed hacking quite merrily alone, on what even looks a pretty busy road really.

IS this Misty as in old HHO Jade&Misty or is my brain being silly?

Best wishes to your friend, that pic proves once and for all the people were liars and hope the pony ends up with a fab home and owners who apriciate her

Yes, it is Jade_and_Misty's old pony. I know Jade still reads the forum, but I'm not sure if she posts anymore. I don't head into the Common Room and I'm sure she used to post more in there than anywhere.

Its so sad to read things like this, sometimes people forget that horses are living creatures. It would make you scared to advertise a horse! Mae can be the sweetest of horses but i know that if the notion took her she could be a cow!

Jesus, she used to rave about how fabby her pony was-how could those people sue them?????
Cant remember a single post form Jade that was gushing over how lovely Misty was or how much she loved her.

Sad that people seem to sue over nothing now

And what an ordeal for them all to go through, selling is heartbreaking enough without a kick in the teath after sale when you think all is well.

You know, until you posted the photo of Misty, it didn't even occur to me that it was Jade's pony

. Do they still have the other horse?

Anima, she loved her to death but sadly her legs got a little bit too long to ride a 14.1 pony and she had to part with her.

Being 14 years old, I think it's fair to say that boys have started to top trump horses for the time being. School work is also intensifying. Jade hasn't had another pony of her own, but can share with her mum if and when she feels like riding.

I hope she finds a lovely home as she really is a very affectionate mare. The people they sold her to (the ones that sued, not current owners) also claimed that she was dangerous around people. Looks it in the top pic of the sale advert eh?

I still can't believe the reasons behind my friend losing her case, I'm still shocked by it. New owner claimed she wouldn't hack alone. They didn't have to prove she hacked alone though, judge took their word over my friends. He said "Where there's two sides of conflicting evidence, I prefer to and will take the claimants version of events". Never quite understood that.....they're in court, so of course there's conflicting evidence!

The day we were ordered to collect Misty, my friend tacked her up (she'd not been ridden for months and months) and hacked her straight up the road, alone, from their yard to the new owner some 30 minutes away. It might not have changed the court decision, but it certainly felt empowering and satisfying!

Are you thinking of the grey, Sophie?

If so, no they don't. Sophie went along time ago. She was a little bit hot headed at times and my friend lost a bit of confidence with her after four years of trying to tame her.

She now owns a lovely black Welsh cross called Taz. He's lovely and perfect for her. Before she had him, my friend wouldn't have entertained going on a farm ride as it would've blown Sophie's brains. Now we both enjoy boxing up to rides and leisurely hacks lasting for hours.

Patches is quite smitten with Taz, bless her.
