For those that read the thread, skip this bit, for those that didn't here is a quick overview - basically I have sold a few of my more high maintenance horses as I will be working abroad a bit more in the coming months. Well, then, out of the blue I was visiting a friend and saw this stunning yearling. I mentioned she was just what I had been looking for, but my OH made a massive fuss about her not being the right horse for me, and that I should have a 17hh warmblood to compete, (she is a gypsy cob, estimated to make around 14hh). We had a debate (row is too strong a word) and I felt a bit peed off that this totally non-horsey person was telling me what sort of horse I should have. I asked on here was I blinded by this lovely horse and not seeing the big picture, and was he trying to stop me making a mistake, or was he just being a controlling OH.

Well.... It turns out neither - he was planning on surprising me all along! Tonight I will be picking up my new little girl, that OH has treated me to as an "Alternative Easter Egg" - he said he didn't want to buy me chocolate, so he bought me her instead. Of course, I now feel INCREDIBLY guilty moaning about him on here! I have already added her to my sig (left hand picture) and will of course bombard you all with pictures once she has settled!! She doesn't have a name yet either (and no, she is not being called Easter before anyone suggests it, lol!)

Ahhhhh! What a lovely OH! He sounds like a good one, keep hold (tightly) as they don't come around often.

X

Oh she is very much edible :) I adore her a proper pocket cob my favourite. So fluffy and pretty ooh well done you and what a super OH bless him :)

OMG! Is this the little girl you were asking re:gypsy cobs for???? She is sooooo sweet!!

Don't worry about moaning, boys are rubbish 99% the time so it's not wonder you assumed the worst! :D

Congrats! She is lush!

Argh I think I would have had a rant too, but oh dear aren't you the lucky one! She is superadorablecute! what a little button, such a lovely little face oh god I want another cob to go with my big fella now!

Hugs for your OH in order today from you methinks! Lucky you!

What a lovely thing for your OH to do bless him :D Have you got him locked up yet? :p

As for your new yearling - she is absolutely adorable. Hope you have lots of fun with her. :D

Don't envy you the job of keeping those legs white though   :p

Wow - lucky you! A wonderful OH and an absolutelyy gorgeous little horse, she is going to be something special when she is older!

No good with names but how about something on the "Easter theme" .

April
Spring
Raine
Bonnie (easter bonnet)
Willow
Luna (phases of the moon)
Asha (meaning of life) also appropiate for her colouring
Anastasia (resurection)

Wow! What a pretty little girl and a lovely other half! I'm so jealous!

Ok not easter... but what about Esther? I knew a lovely shire called Esther when I was a kid. she was adorable...

I am very lucky and very very excited. She really is stunning in the flesh - I went to visit her about ten times (knowing I couldn't have her, but not wanting to let go of the possibility) and each time I thought "I've just made her out in my head to be prettier than she is/better than she is" but every time she blew me away again. I am counting the hours until I can go and get her! Everyone at the yard is excited too, but I am panicking about trying to keep her clean, and how on earth am I going to keep those feathers out of the mud!

She is adorable.... you are very lucky to have a OH that will do that.... so what is he gettting as an alternate easter egg?

She is seriously cute! My friend's boyfriend has just bought her a horse, when I told my boyfriend he told me not to get any ideas ;-)
I had a hamster called Egg when I was at uni, call her Egg I think its cute (but then I like weird names)!

Oh she is so cute! I remember your original post about your OH, I wish mine would randomly surprise me with ponies.

I would call her Angel, because she looks so adorable-and also because I have a grey Irish cob called Angel!

Oh my GOODNESS she is divine!! What a lovely man you've got too - make sure to be extra nice to him! :D

As for names... I think the name 'Bonnie' would be sweet, as suggested by a poster above. Luna is also a lovely name. I always wanted a horse called 'Luna Argento' when I was little.

I was going to say Esther too!
Oh, she is sooo gorgeous! Think I remember your post about gypsy cobs and very cheeky, but would love to have an idea about how much I would pay for a yearling like her? Any chance of a pm?
