Well that's me and my horse hacking out at the moment. He is black and the flies just love him. No flyspray tried so far works, I did buy him a riding fly rug, but bless him he gets so hot I worry that adding a rug, albeit to protect him, will increase his temperature. So any bright ideas?

my pony is in a rambo protector fly rug, he felt quite cool under it when I checked him at 7pm (he was put out at 6pm and it was 25C at 7pm). don't know if rambo do a ride on.

I got a ride on fly rug from Horzehoods. Good quality, nice and light but unfortunately too small for my daft draft. The neck is detachable but just won't reach around his neck or chest. Other than that a generous cut, even on a draft horse.

Vinegar. Doused my horses in it and it keeps everything off but horse flies and reduces those markedly as well.
