Following my thread last week about my gelding showing extreme behaviour under saddle, iv booked a vet to come Thursday to do the thermal imageing with him. I'm actually very excited as to what will show up, and hopefully give me some hope and something to work with. I shall post the report and keep you all informed. Fingers xd.

I think you are doing the right thing - lucky horse. I read your last thread and it does sound as though it could be a pain issue. Keep us posted.

Good luck, hope it answers your questions. It was something I considered but he's now going for scintigraphy instead.

Good luck I hope it gives you some answers and you can help him with all his problems. I have everything crossed they find something and it's easly fixed.

I am really excited as to what will show up. Was also surprised how cheap it was, the vets are having to do a 2hr round trip to see my lad and having a full body looked at which is £50, £100 all in with transport which I think is very good and well worth it. If I got my vet out it would cost £25 call out, £25 examine and go from there. So very cheap I feel and hopefully pin point some areas to look at. Will post results

i hope it works for you, i am looking at doing thermography after i have qualified as physio. will look forward to hearing how it goes ive only heard good things from it so far.

Hopefully I will get something to work with. I just feel if I call my current vet out it will cost alot off money to start looking into things and easy to miss things as well. So the point off doing this is so hopefully I can use the pics I get to say right there is the areas off pain so can work on it from there. How easy can it be for a vet to say yes back pain and concentrate on that when there could also be pain elsewhere being over looked. And the back pain could be a secondary pain to the actual problem.

You have to start somewhere!

Best of luck, think you are great to be giving him the chance to get better :)

What Iv done tonight is lead him round the block from one off my other horses and I'm gona do the same tomoz so hopefully I might agravate ( spelling I know) any area that's in pain to help for Thursday

I had my girl done yesterday for the first time because she just doesn't feel quite right - not lame but just a bit short on off fore. She didn't want any history or info on my girl before she came and I had her whole body done. The only problem area is her heel on off fore going up to her fetlock. Got all thermal images on disc today so, going to speak to vet and see what he thinks. :)

Like you I was looking for a starting point.

Good luck :)
