Remember the 2yo, grey, £500 Arab?

I was due to view this horse and was informed by breeder that he is ' a bit small' ' a bit shy' and needed handling but would come on. they said he was being sold as they had 7 dogs, 8 horses and a full time animal business. I was then told he had already sold the night after he was advertised.Sounds like he was just to much for some one who saw £500 and decided they wanted an arab and got a bit of a shock. it took my welsh D 6 months to settle withme so 4 or 5 days isnt a really fair try. Hope he goes some where nice, last one I nearly bought had been through 6 + homes in 2 years and was very upset. I hope the same doesnt happen to this one.
 
So sorry for this guy. Last things he needs are people to buy him as pet & to be passed about. Was also hoing to read someone had bought him.:(

Would you be able to get in touch with new owners & go view him?
 
IMHO (as an owner of 2 arabs) it is their 'prettiness' which is often their downfall. People get taken in by the beauty & movement, not appreciating they are intelligent horses that thrive on hard work & close relationships. I've known 'mental' arabs, who were either confused as hell by incompetant handling or just downright bored so invented their own vices as a means of coping with their situation. When asked about mine I expain them as being the collie dogs of the horse world. Like a close relationship with humans, can work all day, be active & highly are intelligent. People buying a 2 yr old as a pet unfortunately doesn't surprise me.

Saw his original ad (another one here who browses the Arab horse porn, sorry I mean AL sales pages) and was pleased to see he'd sold quickly but then he was at a low price. Shame to see him back on already, I hope he finds a good home. My YO has a field with two 3 yr old and a 2 yr old geldings, but it's just not the right time for me to be buying another. Especailly as my young mare is keeping me busy.
 
Ive done nothing but think about him this morning at work, ooohhhh i dont need another, my main concern would be if his shyness was inherited by his parents as that can be very difficult to conquer if at all.

'A bit small and a bit shy' doesn't sound awful. He probably just needs time and understanding, quiet, calm handling and preferably turnout with an uber friendly, confident horse friend.

I think that this shows that if you advertise at a low price - you may sell quickly, but you must be so careful that the right home is found.

I would still be bringing attention to an ad that showed a different breed of young horse being resold so quickly, having been bought as a pet.

I know someone with said paragon of a horse .Arab and grey. Aged 4 and the friendliest little chap I've ever met...but I don't think she wants another baby as it'd just provide her's with someone to get into mischief with and he's bad enough already trying to get the oldies to play chase!
 
Thank heavens I'm skint :/ He's lovely, and really deserves better than dimwits keeping him as a pet.
 
Been thinking about him all afternoon while I was at the vets I hope he gets lucky this move it's sad isnt it that their lives sort of depend on the throw of a dice when they move one throw and you end up with numpties trying to keep you as a pet ,lets hope it's a lucky throw of the dice this time.
I have had an empty stable since january it's a good job its the other end of the country as the stable looks well , empty at the mo and and but I keep saying four is much easier than five, but he could have such a nice life here and I have been looking at dragon driving help !!!!

(Sadly it would be very silly for me to take him on as although I do really like arabs and their out look on life a 2yo really wouldnt be sensible, so no need to panic ;))

He sounds like he could be a real gem for some one and he just needs some one to take the time with him to get his trust.
 
I wish i was in a position to have this horse, its just not practical but id love an arab but would need her professional backed
 
Told my friend with matching 4year old Arab about him and she was seriously tempted. Have texted her details but think it's too far away for her. :(
 
Just had a look at his breeding on allbreedspedigree; got some very nice lines there, especially Thee Desperado and Imperial Banaaz - check out his pictue! Probably make lovely little horse if someone was prepared to give him a nice steady upbringing and didn't want to be out there showing etc before he'd got his trust and confidence back. Definately a long term project, but worth it.
 
Oh go on Zaminda;) Just take a look at the dam's breeding - El Shaklan etc! The youngster's breeding is similiar to my gelding's, who also had a bad start in life, but although quirky and sharp, is very beautiful, powerful and multi talented. Huge presence and paces. He's got a very kind temperament too. Go on. . . You know you want to!
 
Blizzard's sire was in Horse and Hound last week winning the Classic Egyptian Class at the big Midlands Arab show. I am seriously tempted but work 40 hour plus weeks, have a22 year old horse a 7 year old son and husband just gained a job after some years out of work and looks like he may be working evenings and most weekends so I cant see how I would have time to invest in this horse as well....

So tempted but I have some frozen straws I got from USA waiting to produce my next one, homozygous black, Blacklord Falkhan by Blacklord Arabi.
