I posted a couple of weeks ago after I'd ridden my friend's welsh cob and felt completely useless.
I rode him again tonight, this time with my friend there to give me some hints and tips and we got on so much better. He still felt really strange as he's so different from my horse but we even managed a decent canter this time.
Then my friend persuaded me to jump him - just a tiny cross pole but I haven't jumped a horse apart from my own for over 2 years. Took a bit of getting used to as it felt like I'd nothing in front of me when I was landing but we did it a few times and finished with a big smile on my face.
I know its self indulgent but I've not been able to ride for so long (my horse can only be lunged at the moment) I really thought I'd forgotten how!
