For the first time ever I have entered 2 dressage tests on the same day and now I am panicking!
Has anyone got any tips on remembering 2 different tests without muddling them up?!

I don't have the option of a caller so will learn them but I am really worried I will mix them up.... it's prelim 1 and 4, which i have done independently and know fairly well. Think I just need to concentrate!
I know this is probably nothing compared to people who do loads in one day, but just wondered if there are any tips which would help?

Thanks!

I try to learn both off by heart and then on the morning of the comp just run through the first test in my head. I usually take the 2nd test sheet with me and after I've done the first test have a quick read through that before I go in. It might help to watch the competitor before you do their test too.
I'm doing prelim 4 and 13 tomorrow and they both start off in a similar way so I hope I don't go wrong!

Someone on here advised learning them back to back - so as you finish and come up the centre line you start the next one. I have just done two and I must admit it does work because you dont confuse the two.

I suspect it is much harder with the higher level tests but it worked for my nov level ones.

I also sit back with my eyes shut and mentally ride through them as close to real time as I can. It does make me laugh though because I have a problem with 1/4's in in canter on the right rein and I often ride it like that in my mind

I also learn them back to back and it definitely helps! I also try to learn them to the point where I can pick it up from any point and know where to go next! Sounds silly but it is harder than it sounds!

I normally try and learn the second test in a mad panic after having ridden the first

I like the back to back idea though, might give that a go next time.

I'm doing P18, N36 and E51 Shortly (riding the novice twice on different horses)

I'm going will doing all 3 every time you ride, but not sure how well this is going to work!!!

I draw them and keep trying to memorise them.

On the day I look at my first drawing and do that test and then I concentrate like hell on the second drawing.

My drawings are of lots of dressage arenas and each arena has each movement on the test. I have dots for walk, dash for trot, full line for canter. I spread the dashes out for lengthened trot, I spread the dots out for the walk on a long rein. You get the idea.

I learn both test during the week and focus on the first test the night before. After the first test is over I get the second test out and freshen up on it.

I use dressagediagrams.com as learning from a visual image is easier for me.

learn them as best you can and have a caller? I had two tests the last time I went. Fortunatly one was A - C turn right and the other was A - C turn left. once I got right or left from the caller I was fine
