A friend was kicked in the face last night.

I'm definitely guilty of forgetting just how unpredictable these animals can be and how much damage they can cause.

Agree - I'm, currently sporting a rather fetching cut across my upper lip and nose courtesy of some electric fencing and worried horse. Best wishes to your friend, sincerely hope she wasn't badly hurt.

Completely agree. I hopped on my mare this morning, took 5 strides off the yard and she threw me off. Never even bucked before today but I now have new found respect for preparation before riding.

I hope your friend isnt injured too badly. xx

Hope your friend is OK, it must have been a horrible shock for her. Hope she isn't too badly hurt and gets better soon.

Hope your friend is okay, what a horrific thing to happen. A similar thing happened to me when my old pony bucked me off going over a fence and kicked me in the face. It's a very horrible experience, and it truly does show how unpredictable they can be. Hopefully she'll make a speedy recovery.

Hope your friend is ok. I've just posted on another thread about how my bombproof 18 year old decided to spook at a tractor for the first time in 10 years and I came off. This was 4 weeks ago and I'm just able to sleep on my side again  I now have a body protector!

My horse is always v spooky and scared of everything, especially when spring grass comes through but gets better towards Autumn . Unfortunately this year due to all the rain spring grass is still coming through!

Hope your friend is ok my friend got kicked in head about 4 years ago she was lucky in respect of brain but broke jaw and cheek and skull cracked. She had plate in cheek and jaw- it was enough to remind me of dangers and still does! Hope your friend is ok

Thats awful dizzydancer. A few years ago my friend was having riding lessons at a riding school so I went along to be nosey. A mare there had recently foaled and one of the yard hands went into the stable for some reason and the mare double barrelled her in the head and killed her.

You just never know do you...
