Hello, this is my first posting on the forum so please forgive me if I make any errors or have posted in the wrong place!
I have my horses in a rented yard about 10 mins / 7 miles from home. Nobody lives there to keep an eye on things and I would like to set up (hopefully at a reasonable price) a CCTV camera system that I can view at home or on my android phone. My horses are currently in during the day to keep them out of the flies but will be in at night when the weather turns sour. Previously I have always lived on site and so have been there just in case one of them had a problem so I'm a little nervous about leaving them without any supervision but that's how it will be.
Ideally I need night vision cameras - maybe one in each of four boxes and one looking out across the yard - my stables are built as a corner so one camera on one corner would see almost everything.
I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to technical stuff but I was told by my brother that I could get wireless cameras that transmit video via 3G or like? I have a fairly strong 3G signal on my phone - sometimes H/H+/E so I think technically it could work. Does this sort of system exist or has my brother been watching too much Star Trek?
If anyone has an experience of this sort of set up or any advice to give me then it would be most appreciated. Thanks

I have wireless internet CCTV which I can access from anywhere. You would need an internet connection at your yard to transmit though and a DVR. You also need a Dynamic DNS for port fowarding. Its a pain to set up, but works fine once its done. Receiving on your phone is the easy part.

I was recently sitting in Spain, viewing my horses munching hay in their stables at home in Ireland on hubby's I-phone. It's a great system and certainly works!
