Removing stains from a Grey (quickly)

Hi - as above really. Does anyone have any tips for removing stains from a grey (almost white) horse please,without the use of too much water. I don;t want to bath him just for showjumping in these climates but also want him to look respectable too...

Hot clothing with some water from a kettle. Not too hot, but as hot as you can bear with bare hands imho, as long as it won't burn them, brings stains off a treat :)
 
HI

Quick tip we used on eventers esp in colder weather was to have a bucket of hot water - as hot as you can stand, get an old tea towel.
You can add some baby oil or nice wash ect to water - and then wring out the tea towel as much as possible and scrub areas that are poo stained.
One way of bathing a horse without soaking them - i also use for quick fix on show days esp as mines lies in it!!!

Hope this helps. Much less expensive that spot stain removers I found and just as effective
 
Fab thankyou all... will try the baby oil one first - sounds cheapest. I have limited experience with Greys. You can get away with so much more on a bay haha! :rolleyes:
 
I have perfected this!

Cowboy Magic Green Spot remover, you don't need loads but don't be stingey. Scrub with a baby wipe until it is all lathered, then get a clean microfibre cloth and scrub as dry as you can.

Then a very light, stingey spray of Red Rum whitening spray, lather with a clean baby wipe and remove the lather with the clean micro fibre cloth.
 
I've used white vinegar before with decent results. What about trying something like Show Sheen to prevent/lessen the stains in the first place? I think if you can find them Absorbine products are a bit pricey though. :(
