I know there have been a lot of threads on here asking about hoof boot recommendations but I hadn't used mine enough to give an opinion. But they are now fairly well tested! I bought the Renegade hoof boots and had them shipped from the states as they are not available here easily I don't think. I am now a big fan!

They are mega easy to put on, handy with a hyper pony! So far they have stayed put really well through deep mud, and even though they have got wet and muddy, they haven't rubbed him at all. He has merrily walked, trotted, cantered, bounced, boinged sideways, backwards, bucked, reared and leapt around with them, in the mud as well as the dry, and they have stayed put really well, other than the one time I didn't do them up tight enough. They were perfect for the distance orienteering ride we did on Sunday, where a lot of the route was on gritty tracks. Oh, and they look good too!

I don't use them massively often as he has great feet, but i can still highly recommend them. the only thing I can't say is how well they last. Obviously the manufacturers are in the States so i imagine if they break it could be hard to replace bits as they do have the wire to tighten them. Hope that helps for some of you.

Spare cables etc are easy to order. :) I've had mine nearly 3 years but only used them occasionally (Spring grass and transitioning at first), I have now worn the tread off and one cable has torn into the boot a little, so I'm replacing them with easyboot gloves. Renegades are great but the grip on damp grass or wet mud on a hard surface is awful! (even when new) I love their design as they have always stayed on even galloping over a stubble field (on an ex-racer) but I want the ability to put studs in when the conditions require when out hacking so I'm not replacing with more Renegades.

I was thinking I'd go for the gloves next time too due to lack of cables. But I do like renegades for what I have used them for so far.
