Can anyone tell me how long on average these last?

I do about 30 miles a week on the roads, currently in walk mostly, but I need to increase the trot dramatically (to about 80% trot eventually), the horse's hooves won't cope with any more, so its boots or shoes. At £90 per boot they'd have to be very durable to make it worth my while financially, not to mention the faff factor.

Cheers.

I've been using Renegades for a few months now. I can't comment on the wear aspect yet, but the faff so far has been zero. They are incredibly easy to put on, and mine have done 3 endurance rides now with no sign of shifting. I hope they suit your horse!

I currently do about 50 miles a week, have had mine for two years and they are just starting to wear out, though do have times when don't use the like in winter when doing a lot less, personally I find them easy to take off and put on and good value

Thanks, peeps.

midogrey, what kind of surfaces is your riding on mainly? If its roads then it sounds like they're pretty durable. From the website I thought they might only have about 500 miles in them, but hopefully not!

I've had renegades and haven't found they last long on road work. It is for that reason that I wouldn't have any more. I got twice the mileage out of the gloves and they were quicker to put on.
I cannot see that I would ever have got anything like 500 miles out of renegades on roads.

Thanks, peeps.

Hi mix of road and off road, tbh you have to find what works best for your hoof shape, I liked look of gloves but couldn't get a good enough fit, in terms of cost I have a barefoot trimmer every 8 weeks on average plus boots and is about the same as the farrier every six weeks spread over the year.

A lot of suppliers now do size kits so you can at least check which is best for your hoof shape first

I can't speak for the Renegades but I recently worked out I got just under 1000 miles from my set of Epics. (95% road work)
