Hi, I'm moving my 2 horses in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone had used this company for hiring horseboxes. If not are there any you might recommend in the berks, bucks, oxon area??? We're first timers for driving a horsebox and both horses are between 15-16 hh mw's if that helps. Thanks :)

Atacanter or Rent Right have depots in those areas if I remember rightly. I use Rent Right and they are fab. They do require a credit card which they take the details of for damage charges but tear it up when you return the box and they have checked it.

yes true but ive just looked at there web site and it dosent say anything about needing a pre 97 licence or hgv intiltement to drive there 4 ton hgv box!!!!

It does say

With a gross maximum weight of the Super Sonic being 4000kg, it has a carrying capacity of 1500Kg and can be driven on a standard car licence.

which is a bit misleading

Hi, thanks for replying so quickly, my dad will be driving and he has a pre 1997 license so we should be covered there. I'd already ruled out 3.5t lorries as I know we wouldn't be legal with one.
Is the damage deposit unusual then???
Any more info would be very much appreciated. :)

i woudnt say there is anything wrong with a deposit to cover the cost of damage... but I would make sure that you make the hire firm rep look the box over and agrree on any existing damage or faults before you take it !!!
