Renting a caravan for Burghley...

Friend and I are thinking about going to Burghley - slight problem is that we would need to take a caravan, which we would need to hire. Does anyone know how much this is likely to cost (and if there are any places near burghley that do it!)

Why do you need to take a caravan? It may work out to be the same price or cheaper to stay in one of the village pubs/B&B's locally.

I am local to Burghley but have no idea about hiring caravans etc - Google would be your best bet.

If I can help with pubs etc let me know.

We went for all 3 days a couple of years ago, and stayed in a B&B 5 miles away. (The local tourist board said the ones in Stamford itself book up a year ahead..often by regulars) So we still had to drive each day (and queue). It would be really nice to caravan - be on site, and able to have a couple of glasses of pimms while there... Let us know if you find a hire company. I'd be interested too.

Think if you go on the Burghley website there are links to people that will hire you a caravan or even a motorhome and even deliver it! Don't know how much but sounded fab! They catered for dogs too!!

Aha!! Fair enough - I guess I never think about stuff like that as I just go home!

Hope you find something - the other option to look at would be a motorhome - they maybe easier to hire?

However, just wondered if there were anymore local companies that hire caravans. I cant find anything on the burghley website though

Not that close to Burghley, but Sutterton Caravans hire out. No idea on costs.

I stayed at a campsite just the other side of Burghley, Tallington Lakes, it was really clean and well organised. I think they had static caravans you could rent and they have a web site too. Hope it helps
