I'm getting home to Northern Ireland from uni this Summer and am desperate to get back to the horses (had to sell mine over a year ago). I have been offered the ride on a lovely mare who has a classy jump. I'm really looking foward to getting stuck in when I get back.
Heres the thing - I'm now old enough to "do it all myself" according to the parentals. I have a fab set up at home - 60x30 school with full set of showjumps, plenty of good grazing, starvation paddock for the fatties or competition horses. Stables in a very secure place, tackroom etc etc. I'm thinking I might try to get people in to rent the stables to help me with a bit of money to keep this new mare.
What do you think? How should I go about this and if I was to offer a sort of part time livery should I be considering anything I haven't thought of? I,m just thinking that if I have to look after my own why not help look after someone else's to save time and make some money (feed in morning, turn out and muck out etc).
Keeping a horse on a part time job - going to be fun!!!
