Repair riding boot uppers?

Hi all, I have a pair of Just Togs Nevada long riding boots made of Equi-(synthetic)-leather, which I've been really happy with as they are very comfy, but the uppers are starting to wear through where they rub against the stirrups. Anyone else had this problem and can suggest a way to patch up or repair? Thanks.

Have you tried taking them to any local cobblers or saddlers, they may be able to offer you a repair for a reasonable price rather than trying to repair it yourself?

They are the same fit etc but real leather & last brilliantly (I've had mine a year, I wear them everyday riding, mucking out etc & they are still going strong)
They come in brown or black & fur lined as well.
I promise I'm nothing to do with the seller I'm just so impressed at how comfortable & brilliant these boots have been for the money!

Or if you really do want to repair them, we used this kit http://www.furnitureclinic.co.uk/Leather_Repair_Kit.php to repair a leather seat in a car & it did a great job.

Equi leather IMO isn't any good for normal equestrian use ie riding 5 nights a week and at least 2-3 hours a day at the weekends. I can't see how firms have the gall to suggest it is. May be fine for the rider that only rides once a fortnight in a riding school, but I made the mistake of buying a pair for my daughter and she wore through the equi leather on the top within weeks.

I only buy real leather now, anything else is a false economy
