Is it possible? Myself or is it something someone pro might be able to do?
We had a lovely big basket bed for our first lab but sadly he had a munch on it round the top one side.
Later on little Dougie came along and had another good chew so the one area round the top is quite damaged.

We were just sorting a load of rubbish to go to a bonfire and it was pulled out and loaded up but I grabbed it off last minute (sentimental idiot alert!)
Spud needs a bigger bed and he’s not a chewy dog. It’s a lovely looking bed and seemed sad to burn it.

Can you get a dog bed that overhangs the top edges? or just a blanket over the whole thing?

Tuffie do basket liner thing. It’s expensive but looks great. (I’ve not got one).
Failing that plaiting thread and needle and sew it up.

They are quite expensive 😳
I think I’ll try the plaiting thread and needle idea to stop it getting worse and maybe have a go at knocking one up myself…. How hard can it be!

It is possible to repair wicker baskets, but you'll need to know how to weave one and have access to the tools and materials. If you can find a local basket weaver they will be able to do it for you .

Is it a wicker basket? If so, you could sew a strip of padding around the top edge and cover it with colourful fabric.
I wonder! Yes it’s a large wicker basket. Another idea to consider!

The Argos one does look like the kind of thing and is a great price. I wonder why they ping off?
I wonder if they are a bit bigger than needed and if I could tighten the elastic perhaps.

Cortez- beyond my remit! There is a shop, it’s a co op so they are not made there but they have local baskets outside so could ask them.

You could sew the ping-y liner to the basket: easy to do with a really big netting needle and some fine string.
