Replacement Trailer Panels (Richardson)
Hi - Can anyone advise on suppliers for replacement side panels for my trailer please? (I know Richardson's don't exist now).
Its bright blue and with a bit of girly research i'm guessing they are currently fibreglass coated plywood, but can you use alternatives like GRP (or is it the same thing?)
OH not very handy but knows someone who is, so I'm trying to get all the parts i need before taking it to him to repair.
Trailer is getting on a bit, the floor is solid but 2 of the side panels are squashy and peeling away and some of the clip locks have come off their rivets.
Thanks for any help.

We repaired our own, one side of mine had rotted it is a good trailer and has the modern floor. The side panel we used aluminion sheets 4mm (can check) on the outside we then lined the inside with 8mm stock board we did not take the old panel out. it cost about £500 in materials but we were quoted £1500 by a horse trailer/box maker and I do not think it would have been as sturdy. If you are at maximuim weight with your tow car do be mindful of that. I was very impressed with our work as I did the cutting and OH did the heavy lifting ect. It was just a shame I went out riding when OH did the painting as that is a bit rustic!!
If you have the older wooden floor I would probably look at changing trailer rather than repair though.

Hello! just wondering if anybody has ever replaced Richardson sidel panels with Ifor Williams panels? I have the Richardson equivalent of the IW 505 model and the side panels are very squishy near the floor.
