Well I turned up in the stinking heat to the 2'3" class just starting. Lottie arrived suprisingly dry (normally she gets so hot and lathers up). I tacked up, warmed up - going ok but a bit lazy for my liking. I walked course for the clear round that had several bright fillers in and what a would call a treble combination. She was quite green and not really taking me in to the fences, stopped at the treble (think she would have jumped if she had more impulsion). I then elected to do the 2'6" class, again the course had changed and several more fillers changed with one double. Lottie had stood brilliantly whilst waiting. Warm up was ok - again still lazy. I was first to go in, Lottie tried napping by reversing at the gate, had me shout at her and then she went in. I took her around the ring, set off in an ok canter and managed to go clear - though it was not a very forward round and not very pretty.
We then had a wait until the jump off (again first to go). Warmed up and couldn;t beleive it we stopped and crashed through an uproght twice! We then cleared it and went in. I was feeling a bit competitive having made it to the jump off without us being eliminated. I realised I was not going to win it on speed so chanced a few turns. Again we got a clear round but not a very forward round. We were one of the slowest clears but managed to come 6th. Lap of honour I thought that Lottie may liven up, had to force her to canter!
So all in all I am pleased with her. However could've been better. Dad keeps saying well in 2 years you've come along way. She wouldn't load, when she loaded she'd stress out, she was a quirky ride and could vertical rear if insecure. And I guess on Sat she loaded, travelled well and no rearing!
