Went out today, had a really good time!!!
We got to jump quite a bit, and nearly a hedge but horse pratting around - he is a green 5 yo. Am going out again soon, hopefully in some nicer weather! Thanks for everyones help b4 hand x

Yes i did - thanks to you! Silly horse went along with his head between his knees as he didn't like the rain. He kept leaping over everything whether it was 2ft or 3,6 - any tips? Guess it's just a case of practice and some x-country schooling. It was the biggest he has jumped so far today so did well, but then wouldn't jump a simple post and rail with a nice run into it and following!! And he had just jumped a 3ft3 wooden gate type thing - very odd pony!!

Just pratice I would say, and make sure you give him freedom to jump, asome will jump bigger out hunting as it is so different, once been out a few times prop won't b as bad, don't worry mine will sometimes stop at the smaller ones than the bigger ones think it because we think they easier so don't ride as positive into them, have to remember to ride every fence how Eva big!!

dont worry bout stopping mine stopped at a 2ft wall other day twice cantered across a field and jumped an upright gate on a down hill slope like he was going round hickstead derby horses ey their odd creatures. im sure he willcome on nicely hunting is brill for youngsters. its not the worst thing that they stop now and again keeps you grounded if im on something push button i 4get to ride and when it does stop end on my arse cos i wasnt riding him and was just expecting him to go lol :S

Good, you will both prop get more confident the more you go out anyway, it has helped my confidence lots!!!!!! The pony I mainly hunt is now 23 and has decided she doesn't want too sj any longer, so we decided to see how she went hunting and we both love it, my bro hunts alot soo had been out a bit b4 but this has been season with me jumpin jumps I Neva thought I would, and both off us prefer to be at the front!! Can u tell how much I love hunting now!!! Hope u managed to try out as well, and hope u have fun next times u go out!!
