Rescue Chi's?

Anyone know how I can get hold of rescue / x-bred chihuahua's? I have spoken with the clubs and a lovely lady from a rescue organisation, but they said that at the moment they are few and far between.
I am loathe to purchase from a breeder because of the whole 'puppy farm' thing and would rather rescue because all the dogs I've had in the past have been rescues and I think it is better.
Based in North West preferably.

um did you per chance talk to pam at brighton? if not maybe you should.
boys come up more than girls and there is a strict neutering policy but they do pay for this (and will pay the vet direct to assure its done).
my mum has taken many on over the last few years, she no longer breeds but take's in whatever whenever.
