The first batch of rescued horses are here in the UK. theres some lovely stories on the IHDG about them.
Just ordinary people doing some good in this world.
Surely these animals need to be quarantined too? Especially as they seem to arrive in the country covered in lice and weeping sores, I'd wonder what else they'd catch.
Exactly Prilly, and as to what is "worth it" is subjective. Some people feel its worth spending money to save and help out these animals, and others in this country too. To say its "not worth it" is the same as saying its not worth spending £200 to geld a colt bought for £20. Of course its worth it IMO
Well done to you hun. All I can say is keep up the good work. Yes, there are many to be saved in our own country, but that is just a border. I support you all the way.

Look i dont mean to be funny its a sensetive subject which alot of people are very aware of on here and also veryt realistic about.
Im afraid if you keep making post after post about it not many people are going to respond because of the nature of it.

Marmite - public forum - they can post about whatever they like.
Personally I think if they are working with the ILPH on this and want to spend their money like this then they have a right to, and a right to post about it.
Given the response you get from a lot of your posts that seems nasty and unfair to you, don't do it to others!
The point (again) for anyone missing it (again) is NOT to stop horses being slaughtered for meat - yes it happens, yes you have to live with it - the whole idea is to get PUBLICITY for the campaign to stop the live transport!
Yes you can rescue a horse from a dealer here - but it isn't facing that live travel in disgusting conditions to Italy that these horses are.
OP - well done on saving one from that awful journey, she looks very sweet. Hope you have fun with her.
Why?
Shouldnt people be made aware of this?
Isnt the nature of this subject an important one which should receive as much publicity as possible?
perhaps those who cant be botheres to lend their voice of support just cant be bothered to read about it?
I cant imagine anyone who actively or non actively supported the ban on this transportaion would not want to read as much as possible about both the atrocities and the happy endings..so to speak.

Well said Gingermare, I tried to say the same thing on the other thread but you've put it much better!
