Rescued from the gypsys! Meet Merlin

The trouble is, if people keep "rescueing" the ponies by buying them from this seller, don't you think the seller will just carry on producing more?

I fully understand the kindness behind saving this poor chap, but I do worry that if money changes hands in cases like this, the cruelty is perpetuated.

Sometimes you just have to save what's in front of you and ignore the bigger picture, what a lucky lucky pony.

He's just lovely. Can't wait to see his progress. Big well done for you helping. Some of the comments offering advice are starting to wind me up though!

My head totally agrees with you... But I bought a horse totally unsuited to being the 'ploddy hack' I was looking for because I just couldn't leave him in the dire circumstances he was in... My head and heart are often in disagreement... :o

agree funding the people who do it is not great, however it is likely an insignificant contribution to a lifestyle and lifetime of treating animals as such (and being gypsys- not having any consequences it appears as they have nothing to be threatened by). Merlin is just one very lucky pony to be taken away from it all and it is too sickening to think that there are so many like him without a hope in the world :(
