I would be really grateful if you would take a few moments to answer my poll

This is only hypothetical but if you could answer in a way that represents what you would choose if you were looking at selling your horse that would be great

I answered yes to all apart from the second last one. I think it would be quite a fuss to get someone to come out to see the horse, not to mention a bit pricey when I could do it myself for free.

cheers Chex. If having someone come to you saved you having to find a recent pic etc and guaranteed clear pics that would be available to 99% of the visitors to the site (not suggesting you can't take a clear pic tho) would that interest you?

Remembering you are trying to sell to others and I personally think people are likely to be more interested if the ad has clear pics etc acompanying it. Not trying to argue

One bug I have is for example someone trying to sell a £5K + horse and the photo is blurred / cuts the horse in half or other such things. Then you visit a site and you like the look of a horse but can't access the video. Not saying this will stop you buying but don't you feel that if you're going to pay for an ad and include pics and/or vid it may as well be of a good quality/ accessible?

Just to be a pain - I would prefer to buy from a site where the owners had gone to the effort of getting proper photos done, I would be put off by blurry/rubbish photo's. Prefer if the advert was written correctly, rather than full of spelling mistakes and bad grammer. However, if I was selling I think it would be a bit of a fuss and bother having to arrange for someone to come out.

I agree, you will always get more business form a well taken photo, if you can't be bothered to show your horse to the best of your ability why would someone want to buy it from you?

Ok so this hypothetical business would be new and wouldn't have the rep of the likes of H&H but to only pay upto £50 for a personal service that in the end may sell your horse of £??

Have to say am quite surprised at that response.

Do many of you or have any of you advertised via one of the well known companies? What was your feeling of the service / response? (Don't need to name names)

ye I have advertised a few times not mentioning any mag. It goes on line first then inthe mag. Always get a good response with a good photo and wording. company was great to deal with and easy and helpful. I would spend over £50 mark to sell a horse. I know people that would only advertise for free and they hardly ever sell there horse or get good money for it... A good looking eyecatching horse/pony is going to sell better than a plain jane type... A great photo is a must..
