Hi

I'm doing some market research to find out whether people who spend time around horses also suffer from insommnia? Details are not required but if you are happy to offer them, it would be great!!

Thanks very much.

My, my sister and my mum are all really light sleepers. Find it difficult to drop off and stay asleep - if something wakes me up in the middle of the night, I'm not going back to sleep for anything!

I go through phases of being practically unconscious during the night to doing the dishes at 4am because there's no point lying in bed watching the clock. Fortunately my sleeping is getting much better! I agree with those who said stress disturbs routine - never thought about any link between that and horses though. I tend to sleep very well in a tent at competitions, weirdly enough!

No, I am always tired and will happily have a nap whenever the opportunity arises! Never have any trouble sleeping lol :D Only slightly thing is I am so used to waking up at 5.30-6 am that on the rare day I don't have to due to having a day off I still wake up really early and then struggle to get back to sleep again! :(

I've been suffering with maintenance insomnia lately, but that's stress induced and not horse related.

My RI on the other hand only sleeps 2-3 hours per night, like Maggie Thatcher used to. How she lives on that little sleep and is that busy at work doing >12hrs days I don't know!

I dont sleep, probably on average 3-4hrs per night (sometimes less) - I also have 3 part time jobs as a groom, swimming instructor and office cleaner (not at uni this yr - this is the work avaliable) which keep me busy and active. Used to sleep better at uni!! :)
