Hi everyone, currently researching into a youngster, Ive had a quick look online but wondering if any of you had heard much about the offspring of the above, in terms of their success at eventing?

They both look lovely types, obviously did well racing, but not sure re: eventing.

Any information greatly received! (no matter how little as very in the dark at the moment)

Thanks!

Not a huge amount of help to you but looking at Big Sink Hopes pedigree I feel ambivilent. I love the dam sire line but I am not a huge fan of the sire line. Looking at his progeny nothing really stands out and 25 EI points out of 525 progeny is not very impressive.

Jacksons Drift - Wow that is decent sporthorse breeding. I would expect to totally love this horse if I saw it in the flesh. I hate Native Dancer but I would forgive it because of the dam line balancing it out.

Cannot find any pictures of him or find out much about his progeny.

Thanks LEC- i hadnt seen that document before- its very useful. I did a quick search of some of Jackson's drift's offspring on BE- most are BE100 and up, some Int/1*/2* so looking hopeful in terms of potential. im just awaiting some videos to be sent through of his movement.
He's with a professional currently but not really done anything other than lightly hunted/SJ clear round and XC schooling. We'll see.

Thanks applecart- i had looked on that site for both of them. would be really useful if BE had some sort of way of searching by sire/dam! (or all breed predigree to find offspring1)

any more info very much appreciated.

Here is link of all Big Sink Hope's off-spring that have competed in Eventing Ireland http://www.eventingireland.com/Horses.aspx?context=HorseResult&Id=100124&bool=True

Personally, I think BSH is more of show horse producer than jumper / eventer. That is not to say that some can't jump but a lot more over here in Ireland ended up in the Show rings as young horses and then sold to the UK showing market.

Not sure if this is any help to you, but I have a Jackson's Drift 5yr old.
Don't know if he is true to type, but can give you some info about him and put a picture up if it would be interesting?

Thanks clairel that would be lovely (im sure people would love to look at your horse too!)

what is his temperament like? Ive heard that they can be sharp?

I think the best words to describe him would be sensitive and quirky! Wouldn't call him sharp and there seems to be no badness in him (he has never done anything you would consider naughty under saddle, even though I bought him as he was being broken) but he is very insecure and apparently that is a Jackson's Drift trait.
He has a fantastically trainable attitude and takes everything in his stride, apart from the things that send him into melt down! But those moments are definitely get less frequent... thank goodness.

I'm hoping to event mine, he has just needed some time to gain our trust.

BIg Sink Hopes are nearly always very good looking horses, as said above he has a lot of progeny who are successful in the show ring. Unfortunately I only know (personally) of one who went on to be a useful event horse. They don't have the greatest name for jumping ability.

This is Frenchfort Jackson.

Probably the Arab coming out as he is an Anglo arab ! Although wetherbys registered

He looks lovely. Whats the dams side of his breeding?

He looks similar to the one ive seen- he's slightly brighter bay but nicely compact and short coupled. lovely floaty paces. Theyre asking 10K for him though- which in my eyes is over priced- he's nice yes but he's done nothing in the way of competing.

Thank you.
The sire of the dam is Courage who I think is a showjumper on the continent. Dam is a grade A sjer too.

Does sound a lot of money to me, but I suppose it depends on whether he is ready to get on with things, or is going to need a bit more time?

I use sport horse pedigree as tends to be much more accurate. Allbreed is not very reliable.
