Resistance to wormers?

Does this happen in dogs? I'm used to rotating wormers with the horses but I always use Panacur on the dog and cat. The vet says this is fine, but should I be using another brand now and again? Or do their worms not build up a resistance?

I would follow the vets advice, in general all vet based wormers are fine, I use Panacur for puppies and Drontal for adults, and never had a ny problems.
