Hi all, looking for some advice please, does anyone know which brand of weed killer will get rid of chamomile (2 strains - I think I have mayweed and pineapple weed) and is suitable to use on horse grazing paddocks (with horses off for a number of weeks as usual after spraying). Have tried Relay-P with no effect....

I'm another one who would just let it be! Its a natural calmer and horses love the taste... Probably won't last long if they have access to it!

Thanks ramseydog. If the rest of you want to look up chamomile on the internet, you will see there are a variety of strains. Some are noxious eg stinking chamomile - toxic to horses, cats and dogs. Thankfully I don't have this strain but the version I do have has taken over the bottom part of my fields where is was poached over winter and the grass was destroyed. Please don't automatically assume that because you have heard of one type of chamomile plant as a calmer in tea, all strains are good for the horses! :-)

I can tell you that Grazon 90 doesn't work! I sprayed it on my chamomile and it made it look at bit sick and sorry for a while but it has come back this year. My horses do not eat it. I wish that it was the pineapple variety because they will eat that.

actually my lot don't really eat pineapple weed and it does really takeover. Headland didn't really touch it either-it did burn off alot in the heat but the rain has bought it back again.

Oh dear... it seems like there's not much info out there on the control of this weed in the UK, and mine seem to be quite rampant!. Someone has suggested Pastor, so I will try that when I can get back into these paddocks to spray them and let you know :-)
